10 Energy Savings Tips for Your Water Heater

  4. Use cold water when doing laundry. Depending on the type of washing machine you have, you can change your settings to wash and rinse with cold water.
  5. Run your dishwater less frequently. Run your dishwasher only when it is completely full and choose shorter wash cycles.
  6. Fix leaky pipes immediately. Did you know that a leak of just one drip can cost $1 per month? That may not seem like a lot but if your leak is more than just a drip and it went unnoticed for a few days in your basement you could waste a lot of money.
  7. Install low-flow fixtures in your home. Showerheads and faucets are now federally regulated to have low flow rates.
